Jersey Swimming Club

On Saturday 11^th June an inexperienced Jersey Swimming Club team of 23 youngsters aged between 8 and 11 years travelled to the Guernsey Swimming Club’s Annual Junior Meet at Beau Sejour Pool.

Toby Ritzema (9) in only his second encounter with his CI counterparts had a fantastic day in the pool. In the 50m Free heats Toby improved by 4 seconds and set a new Meet Record, following with three more great swims, ensuring his place in the afternoon’s finals. His day got better! ; He lowered his Meet Record in the 50m Free, pipped his closest Guernsey competitor to gold medal by just  0.19 seconds in the 25m Fly, removed a further 2 seconds from his morning’s 5 second personal best in the 100IM and swam a 4 second personal best in the 50m Backstroke. Toby also  set a new Meet Record in the 50m backstroke. His success saw him in first place on the podium for each of his events.
